Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead engineering and operational management for highly available, large-scale Oracle database fleets.
- Perform Oracle 19c performance analysis, complex tuning, diagnostics, reliability improvements, upgrades, patching, and architectural changes.
- Design database architecture, access methods, allocation strategies, validation controls, protection, security standards, and HA/DR solutions.
- Build fleet-management automation, diagnostics, monitoring, and operational tooling using Python and/or Shell.
- Define database capacity, availability, observability, resilience, versioning, deprecation, and rollout strategies across OCI services.
- Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, complex troubleshooting, defect resolution, and prevention initiatives.
- Develop and optimize scalable platform software, middleware patterns, APIs, and interoperability strategies.
- Lead code reviews, software testing, quality assurance, debugging, performance profiling, and secure coding practices.
- Mentor and coach engineers, establish operational best practices and runbooks, and provide technical guidance across teams.
- Collaborate with Compute, Storage, Networking, Governance, service owners, stakeholders, and customers to deliver resilient cloud services.
- Produce migration guides, adoption playbooks, and customer issue-handling processes.
- Coordinate moderately complex projects, monitor timelines and deliverables, and participate in candidate interviews and hiring recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6–8 years of Oracle Database Engineering, Administration, or SRE experience.
- Deep expertise with Oracle 19c, including RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, ASM, SQL optimization, performance diagnostics, and HA/DR design.
- Strong Python and/or Shell scripting experience for automation, diagnostics, monitoring, and operational tooling.
- Experience leading complex database changes, upgrades, and reliability initiatives.
- Strong understanding of database security, observability, capacity planning, and cloud-scale operations.
- Proven technical leadership, mentoring, cross-functional collaboration, critical thinking, and effective written and spoken English communication.
- Ability to diagnose complex cross-service issues and drive versioning, compatibility, safe rollout, resilience, and interoperability practices.
