Responsibilities
- Lead projects or systems and coordinate the activities of other engineers.
- Define the technical tasks that other engineers will follow.
- Build agentic commerce, agentic knowledge, and personalization solutions.
- Improve existing structures, processes, and engineering rigor standards.
- Reconcile competing priorities involving time, quality, complexity, and risk to determine solutions.
- Represent PayPal in interactions with partners, customers, or industry organizations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with Python and Java.
- Experience with LangGraph, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt and context engineering, GCP Vertex AI, Bigtable, Cloud SQL, and vector databases.
- Familiarity with the full agent-building lifecycle and cloud platforms.
- Ability to coordinate engineers, define technical work, make technical decisions, and improve engineering standards.
