Base Salary

$185k - $246k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the in-house subject matter expert for Datadog Service Management products.
  • Provide hands-on technical and architectural guidance to enterprise customers through Field teams.
  • Design on-call escalation policies, incident response workflows, event correlation pipelines, and custom App Builder tools.
  • Create reference architectures, technical guides, cookbooks, documentation, and enablement assets.
  • Build proofs of concept and small-scale deployments to validate solutions and reproduce customer environments.
  • Provide product feedback informed by customer experience to help shape automation, on-call, and incident workflow roadmaps.

Requirements

  • Bring hands-on experience building and operating incident response programs, on-call rotations, or internal automation and tooling in large-scale production environments.
  • Understand distributed systems, tracing, metrics, logging, alerting, event correlation, and incident management workflows.
  • Have experience with Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript and familiarity with low-code/no-code application development concepts.
  • Demonstrate consultative customer-support skills, including the ability to work in complex and high-pressure live incident situations.
  • Be able to sit for up to four hours and travel by automobile, train, or air up to 40% of the time.
  • Preferred experience includes 5+ years as a Solutions Architect or Sales Engineer supporting incident management, ITSM, on-call/paging, or workflow automation tools.
  • Preferred experience includes Datadog or other observability tools in an SRE or DevOps capacity and building custom applications with low-code platforms such as Retool or App Builder.
