Base Salary
$160k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead structured enterprise customer implementations from kickoff through initial production readiness.
- Design and configure telemetry ingestion pipelines for logs, metrics, and traces, including parsing, enrichment, normalization, and routing.
- Implement OpenTelemetry instrumentation and collectors and help customers adopt vendor-neutral observability standards.
- Migrate and modernize observability environments such as Splunk, ELK, and cloud-native monitoring tools into Observe.
- Configure datasets, dashboards, alerts, and other observability assets aligned with customer use cases.
- Establish implementation plans, milestones, and success criteria with customers.
- Provide hands-on guidance and enablement so customers become self-sufficient on the platform.
- Identify and proactively address technical risks, data quality issues, and architectural gaps.
- Document implementation patterns, best practices, templates, runbooks, and reusable assets.
- Collaborate with Observability Engineers, Architects, Support, Product, and Engineering to ensure smooth transitions and ongoing success.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in customer-facing technical roles such as implementation engineer, solutions architect, technical consultant, or SRE.
- Strong hands-on experience with observability platforms and telemetry pipelines.
- Practical experience with OpenTelemetry instrumentation, collectors, exporters, and pipelines.
- Experience with one or more observability solutions, including Splunk, ELK/Elastic, Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace, or Grafana.
- Solid understanding of logs, metrics, and traces, including data modeling and tradeoffs at scale.
- Experience working in AWS, GCP, or Azure environments and modern application architectures.
- Ability to work directly with technical customer teams and communicate clearly at multiple levels.
- Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working through ambiguity in fast-moving environments.
- Experience migrating customers from Splunk or ELK, or a background in SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering, is preferred.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, containerized workloads, cloud-native tooling, implementation templates, runbooks, enablement content, or hybrid observability environments is preferred.
