Base Salary
$160k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend systems for the automated order-taking platform.
- Integrate backend systems with ML models and client devices.
- Monitor and optimize backend performance in production environments.
- Build and maintain integrations with restaurant POS, loyalty, payment gateway, and customer data systems.
- Apply system design, code quality, testing, security, and maintainability best practices.
- Optimize AI pipelines for challenging audio environments, ambiguous customer requests, and rapidly changing menus.
- Advance LLM and voice AI capabilities and run experiments to validate product impact.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience developing, implementing, and maintaining backend infrastructure in production environments.
- Proven experience building and deploying scalable, high-performance backend systems.
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and deployment technologies such as AWS and API design.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, adaptability, and cross-product ownership skills.
- Preferred experience includes audio, taking backend systems from zero to one, integrating with third-party APIs and point-of-sale systems, Python, Kotlin, Java, Docker, Kubernetes, and AI/ML.
