Responsibilities
- Design and develop Android Framework components and HAL services for automotive platforms.
- Customize AOSP and Android Automotive OS frameworks to meet platform requirements.
- Develop OEM framework extension services and custom HAL implementations.
- Integrate, debug, and optimize Android framework services for automotive use cases and performance KPIs.
- Work across Android framework and middleware layers, including Car Framework integrations.
- Collaborate with product owners and globally distributed cross-functional teams to deliver customer-focused features.
- Participate in code reviews, CI/CD workflows, Agile development processes, documentation, and architecture discussions.
Requirements
- Strong expertise in Android Framework architecture, AOSP, AAOS, and Android services.
- Hands-on experience with Android HAL development, custom HAL implementations, and Car Framework.
- Understanding of AIDL- and HIDL-based communications and Android and Linux Hardware Abstraction Layers.
- Experience developing OEM Framework Extension Services and customizing Android platforms.
- Proficiency in C++ and experience with Java or Kotlin; Rust exposure is an advantage.
- Understanding of Git and CI/CD workflows.
- Experience working in Agile software development environments, with strong debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with globally distributed teams and stakeholders.
- BE/B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, Communication Technology, or an equivalent qualification.
