Responsibilities
- Use AI coding agents to support requirements analysis, technical planning, architecture, coding, refactoring, code review, testing, debugging, documentation, deployment preparation, and production troubleshooting.
- Design, develop, and maintain secure and scalable fintech applications and backend services for payments, merchant integrations, settlements, reconciliation, payouts, and related transaction workflows.
- Build secure APIs, event-driven services, and transaction-processing components with appropriate error handling, retries, idempotency, timeouts, rate limiting, logging, and monitoring.
- Integrate with banks, payment channels, card networks, and third-party service providers.
- Develop unit, integration, functional, regression, performance, security, and automated tests, and investigate defects to identify root causes.
- Participate in CI/CD, cloud and container deployments, automated delivery, rollback procedures, production monitoring, and incident troubleshooting.
- Review and improve AI-generated code for correctness, security, maintainability, and compliance while preventing sensitive company and payment information from being exposed.
- Contribute to code reviews, engineering standards, technical-debt reduction, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement of development workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Approximately 3+ years of professional software development experience; exceptional candidates with less experience may be considered.
- Strong programming, problem-solving, software engineering, database, API, and backend development fundamentals.
- Practical experience using AI coding assistants or AI development agents, with the ability to evaluate and correct their recommendations.
- Experience with one or more backend languages such as Java, PHP, Go, Python, Node.js, or C#.
- Experience with databases, APIs, source control, Linux, containers, cloud platforms, and messaging or caching technologies.
- Understanding of secure software development, application and API security risks, authentication, authorization, encryption, tokenization, and secure data handling.
- Ability to work independently, collaborate with engineering teams outside China, read English technical documentation, and communicate technical topics in English.
- Fintech, payments, banking, financial systems, payment processing, high-volume transaction platforms, reconciliation, settlement, PCI DSS, high-availability architecture, cloud-native applications, distributed systems, DevSecOps, automated testing, AI agent workflows, or production incident troubleshooting experience is preferred.
