Responsibilities
- Architect the observability platform using the LGTM stack.
- Build internal observability products with React/TypeScript and Python/Rust.
- Develop custom log indexing systems for efficient log processing.
- Integrate SQL analytics for logs using AWS Athena or similar tools.
- Create advanced query interfaces for logs, metrics, and traces.
- Balance cloud-native and open-source solutions for observability.
- Integrate AWS observability with the custom platform.
- Build intelligent alerting systems to detect anomalies.
- Partner with engineering teams to establish logging and metrics standards.
- Enable performance optimization through observability insights.
- Establish observability standards and best practices.
- Drive platform adoption through workshops and documentation.
- Demonstrate technical leadership and mentor engineers.
- Work in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software or infrastructure engineering experience.
- Experience leading technical initiatives and building platform products.
- Strong skills in React/TypeScript for frontend and Python for backend development.
- Expertise in the LGTM stack for observability.
- Extensive experience with AWS CloudWatch and custom metrics.
- Production experience with SQL-based log analytics.
- Ability to architect solutions using both managed cloud services and open-source tools.
- Hands-on experience with search systems like OpenSearch or Elasticsearch.
- Experience building high-performance systems for large data volumes.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and microservices architectures.
