Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, debug, maintain, and deploy Python applications, analytical tools, automation, and data-processing capabilities.
- Translate complex or ambiguous sponsor problems into technical requirements, architectures, implementation decisions, and practical solutions.
- Lead technical direction for projects or capabilities while personally writing and reviewing production-quality code.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, code reviews, and design reviews for engineers and analysts.
- Develop reusable tools, libraries, workflows, documentation, and engineering practices.
- Collaborate with investigators, analysts, data scientists, engineers, sponsors, and other technical stakeholders.
- Evaluate software, data sources, platforms, and analytical approaches to improve investigative capabilities.
- Communicate technical concepts, risks, decisions, and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- Strong Python software development experience, including development, debugging, testing, and maintenance of non-trivial software or analytical capabilities.
- Experience independently solving complex technical problems, making technical design decisions, and leading the technical direction of a project, task, capability, or significant body of work.
- Experience providing technical guidance, mentorship, or work reviews and translating user or mission needs into working technical solutions.
- Experience developing software that processes, transforms, interacts with, or analyzes complex datasets.
- Understanding of software engineering practices including version control, testing, documentation, code review, and maintainable design.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and sponsor or customer stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with digital investigations, cybersecurity, intelligence, law enforcement, national security, or other operational missions.
- Preferred experience with Python libraries and frameworks such as pandas, NumPy, SQLAlchemy, FastAPI, or Flask; data pipelines; APIs; backend services; automation; analytical workflows; databases; SQL; Linux; command-line tools; scripting; Git; automated testing; containerization; external APIs; or investigative platforms.
- Preferred familiarity with digital forensics, OSINT, cyber threat intelligence, network analysis, malware analysis, cryptocurrency analysis, investigative analytics, or target and activity analysis.
- Active Secret U.S. Government security clearance is required; the candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance, and U.S. citizenship is required for security-clearance eligibility.
- Active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance is preferred.
- Access to a vehicle is required for sponsor-site and related local mission activities.
