Base Salary

$79k - $210k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and operate highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant microservices across control plane, connectivity, distributed-systems data plane, and Linux daemon technologies.
  • Contribute across the product lifecycle from conceptualization and product definition through design, development, launch, and operational maturity.
  • Build and optimize distributed-system components for scalability, resiliency, operability, high-volume retrieval, storage, and processing.
  • Implement redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, timeouts, recovery-oriented practices, and synchronization.
  • Develop load and performance tests, alarms, dashboards, telemetry, runbooks, troubleshooting automation, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Participate in incident response and root-cause analyses while improving reliability, delivery velocity, operational efficiency, customer outcomes, and engineering productivity.
  • Apply advanced security controls and maintain change, compliance, and documentation standards.
  • Identify opportunities to use AI-assisted and agentic approaches to automate engineering workflows.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience with systems or application development.
  • At least 3 years of experience with distributed systems or backend development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
  • Proficiency with data structures, algorithms, and operating systems.
  • Experience with distributed systems, including CAP theorem, consensus, messaging, and high availability.
  • Willingness to learn and responsibly apply AI/LLM tools, skills, and automation to improve engineering workflows.
  • Hands-on, adaptable, self-motivated approach and ability to learn quickly and solve high-availability and scalability problems.
