Base Salary
$79k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable distributed-system components and optimize systems for large-scale data processing.
- Develop performance, load, fault-injection, brown-out, and functional tests.
- Build fault-tolerant systems using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts.
- Create runbooks, operational procedures, dashboards, telemetry, alarms, and alerting systems to monitor component health.
- Diagnose and resolve operational issues and participate in support rotations, incident response, and root-cause investigations.
- Develop automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code tooling for troubleshooting and cloud infrastructure maintenance.
- Apply encryption, access controls, security remediation, compliance, documentation, and change-management practices.
- Review team implementations for scalability and collaborate across teams to meet project, stakeholder, and customer needs.
Requirements
- Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing distributed systems for scalability, resiliency, operability, and high-volume data processing.
- Experience with reliability engineering practices including replication, failover, recovery-oriented design, fault injection, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
- Experience developing automation scripts, operational tooling, and Infrastructure as Code for cloud infrastructure.
- Ability to apply security controls, remediation plans, compliance standards, documentation practices, and change-management procedures.
- Ability to troubleshoot standard and non-standard system issues, manage work with limited supervision, and collaborate across teams.
- Must be willing to relocate to the Nashville, TN area.
