Responsibilities
- Build, operate, and maintain the Azure DevOps toolchain for reliable and stable software releases.
- Create and maintain MSI and EXE installation packages using WiX technology.
- Automate configuration management, build and release management, continuous integration, and deployment processes.
- Install, configure, monitor, tune, and migrate configuration-management tools and systems.
- Develop tools, utilities, and scripts for configuration-management, installation, maintenance, and build tasks.
- Document continuous-deployment, build, and release processes and evaluate new automation opportunities.
- Smoke-test builds, troubleshoot build and release issues, and diagnose problems reported by production and non-production users.
- Advise global product teams on software configuration management, branching, and test-automation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or engineering.
- 4 to 9 years of practical experience as a DevOps Engineer.
- Hands-on experience implementing software configuration-management and release systems for large software projects.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, MSBuild, PowerShell, NuGet, SonarCloud, code-review tools, C++ and C# unit-testing frameworks, and installer/packaging tools.
- In-depth working knowledge of creating installation packages with WiX technology.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft technology-based development and Azure DevOps pipeline build automation.
- Experience troubleshooting issues and providing resolutions for production and non-production users.
- Experience scripting automated application installation, maintenance, and builds, including PowerShell, VB, and/or Python.
