Responsibilities
- Build REST/gRPC APIs, Python SDKs, and CLI interfaces for anonymized data and on-demand de-identification.
- Design, build, and operate anonymization and de-identification services and high-throughput pipelines using Spark, EMR, and SageMaker.
- Implement and harden differential privacy, group anonymization, and synthetic data generation techniques, including repeatable privacy-utility measurement and adversarial evaluation tooling.
- Operate ML systems at scale, including GPU provisioning and utilization, quantization, batch throughput, model serving, compute costs, and production troubleshooting.
- Drive object-oriented design, automated testing, CI/CD, code reviews, design reviews, and mentorship of junior and mid-level engineers.
- Create architectural documentation and API specifications and partner with product, legal, compliance, and external research teams.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software development engineering experience architecting, building, and scaling robust backend or data-intensive systems.
- Strong Python proficiency, or proficiency in Java, Scala, or Go with willingness to work primarily in Python.
- Experience with object-oriented design, software architecture, production REST/gRPC APIs, SDKs, and distributed microservices.
- Experience operating large-scale distributed data processing systems at enterprise volume, including profiling and optimizing memory, throughput, and compute cost.
- Hands-on experience deploying, scaling, and maintaining production systems on AWS or an equivalent cloud platform.
- Knowledge of testing methodologies, automated frameworks such as PyTest or JUnit, and CI/CD practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred experience includes de-identification, group anonymization, differential privacy, synthetic data generation, PyTorch or TensorFlow, transformer architectures, NER, Hugging Face, GPU inference optimization, agent systems, LangGraph, LangSmith, LLM evaluation, Responsible AI, GDPR, and collaboration with external research partners.

- Base salary range for Ireland is €86,400–€129,600 EUR, with potential eligibility for the Workday Bonus Plan or role-specific bonus and annual refresh stock grants.
- Flexible work arrangement requiring at least 50% of each quarter in the office or in the field, with remote home-office roles also able to meet in offices for important events.
