Responsibilities
- Design and enforce least-privilege IAM, network segmentation, secrets management, encryption, runtime threat detection, and other cloud security controls across multiple AWS accounts.
- Build automated security detection and response pipelines and use AI tools to accelerate remediation of security findings.
- Maintain GitHub-based automation pipelines and frameworks with the engineering team.
- Lead cross-functional security initiatives and embed threat modeling and security reviews into architecture and development processes.
- Own vulnerability management, AWS security posture monitoring, incident detection and response, and HIPAA compliance programs.
- Shape secure, cost-effective, reliable cloud architecture based on zero-trust and defense-in-depth principles.
- Review and document active care-program workflows, staffing, and tooling, producing written summaries of gaps and immediate priorities.
- Complete initial security gap analysis, standardize AWS account deployment with Control Tower, validate SIEM logging ingestion, and evaluate vulnerability scanners.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on AWS cloud security and infrastructure engineering experience in production, ideally including building a security program from scratch.
- Deep fluency with AWS security services including GuardDuty, Security Hub, Config, CloudTrail, KMS, and Inspector, along with IAM policy design.
- Experience with multi-account AWS governance using Control Tower and Organizations, VPC and network design, and container or serverless infrastructure using ECS, EKS, and Lambda.
- Familiarity with CIS, HIPAA, HITRUST, and AWS Well-Architected security and compliance frameworks.
- US citizenship and authorization to work in the US without sponsorship are required.
