Responsibilities

  • Automate the building, testing, deployment, and maintenance of data and AI solutions across on-premises, public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Design, implement, streamline, and monitor CI/CD pipelines for data-focused initiatives.
  • Apply Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps, incident management, change management, and release automation practices.
  • Build and optimize ETL and data pipelines in Databricks and other cloud data warehousing environments.
  • Develop highly automated infrastructure and support migrations from on-premises infrastructure to cloud environments.
  • Design and implement secure, scalable, optimized, and reliable infrastructure and deployment processes.
  • Collaborate with project managers, leadership, health authority data architects, technical teams, analytics teams, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Analyze current practices and implement improved processes, emerging concepts, and best practices for Data and Analytics.
  • Provide technical leadership through teaching, coaching, and mentoring.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Software Engineering, or a related field, plus at least five years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as a Platform, DevOps, DataOps, or Site Reliability Engineer.
  • Extensive experience with DevOps practices including code review, unit test automation, build and release automation, incident management, and change management.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, streamlining, and monitoring CI/CD pipelines in a data-focused organization.
  • Demonstrated experience building and optimizing ETL and data pipelines in Databricks or other cloud data warehousing technologies.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Databricks, Azure SQL, Git, and GitHub workflows.
  • Proficiency with Python, Bash, Terraform, ARM, Bicep, or other scripting languages for automating releases or processes.
  • Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, databases, SQL, Azure, and cloud infrastructure services such as Azure Data Factory.
  • Ability to develop architecture and design artifacts and execute migrations from on-premises infrastructure to cloud environments.
  • Understanding of security principles, DevSecOps practices, and design patterns for security, scalability, and optimization.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, problem-solving, communication, planning, budgeting, project management, teamwork, and stakeholder relationship skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines under pressure, communicate complex ideas clearly, and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Cloud service provider certification, such as Microsoft DevOps Engineer Expert, is preferred.
