Responsibilities
- Spend ~25% of your time onsite with customers across the US.
- Build a ground-truth understanding of customer operations by shadowing operators and analysts.
- Rapidly prototype tools and integrations in the field to validate ideas and solve urgent problems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose complex operational or systems issues.
- Translate field insights into clear technical requirements for the engineering team.
- Lead all technical integration work, including APIs and data pipelines.
- Work closely with engineering to ensure features align with operational needs.
- Represent customer technical realities internally to ensure feasibility and reliability.
- Decompose ambiguous problems into well-scoped technical workstreams.
- Ensure customers succeed in mission-critical contexts by enabling smooth deployment.
- Inform product and engineering teams with data and field observations.
- Play a key role in pre-sales by demonstrating product value onsite.
- Contribute to the foundation and culture of Realm’s forward deployed engineering function.
Requirements
- 2+ years of software engineering or forward deployed experience.
- Strong technical fluency and ability to work closely with engineers.
- Low ego, high EQ, and exceptional collaborative instincts.
- Experience with enterprise, industrial, government, or security-critical products.
- Strong coding skills and grasp of computer science fundamentals.
- Mastery of core development tools like Git and Linux.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional problem solving.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments with strong prioritization skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong data instincts and comfort analyzing data.
- Hands-on prototyping and AI-assisted coding skills.
- Must be based in the US as a citizen or permanent resident.
