Responsibilities
- Own and evolve Coupang’s critical recommendation service.
- Collaborate with global teams to build a world-class recommendation system.
- Analyze large volumes of customer behavior data to generate actionable insights.
- Develop machine learning models, features, and recommendation algorithms.
- Create data jobs, train models, run experiments, and launch improved models.
- Mentor and develop engineers across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field.
- At least 5 years of professional applied AI/ML experience with large-scale, complex datasets.
- Demonstrated ability to derive insights from complex data and solve business-critical problems with advanced AI/ML technologies.
- Experience as a domain technical leader driving cross-team collaboration on large-scale, high-impact solutions.
- Professional industry experience with Python and/or Java.
- A track record of launching successful algorithms with measurable business impact.
- Professional proficiency in English and strong communication skills.
- Preferred experience includes recommendation or search systems, LLMs, PLMs, embedding models, AWS, GCP, Vertex AI, and online serving systems at scale.
- A master’s degree or Ph.D. in a related technical or scientific field is preferred.
