Responsibilities
- Develop and rapidly iterate on IAM platforms with a small, highly talented team.
- Partner with teams across Coupang to understand current needs and future direction.
- Design strategic, robust, scalable technical solutions and critical infrastructure components.
- Develop backend APIs in Java and Go using industry-standard frameworks.
- Drive platform adoption and help teams prioritize technical work.
- Investigate critical system issues and improve operational excellence.
- Serve as a role model for engineers and help shape team culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or a closely related field.
- Six years of experience in backend software development.
- Experience working in cloud environments, particularly AWS.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining highly available, distributed systems.
- Master’s or PhD degree in computer science or a related technical field is preferred.
- Working knowledge of OIDC, OAuth2, IAM systems, identity providers, and role-based authorization is preferred.
- Experience with Kubernetes, gRPC, Istio, high-reliability and low-latency cloud systems, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code is preferred.
- Fluency in one or more of C++, Java, and Go is preferred.
- Recent hands-on experience designing and developing large-scale distributed systems and strong understanding of cloud application architecture, API design patterns, performance, and scale are preferred.
