Responsibilities
- Lead architecture design for scalable, extensible, and reliable fulfillment technologies
- Set the technology roadmap and future direction in alignment with stakeholders across multiple teams
- Identify and remove technical obstacles and organizational-level blockers
- Decompose complex problems into straightforward solutions and help teams prioritize effectively
- Write code as needed to lead by example and support high-priority projects
- Identify business and technology opportunities
- Evaluate and adopt useful open-source and commercial technologies
- Recruit and develop engineering talent
- Drive automation and robotics initiatives
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience developing and operating backend services and web applications
- Track record of delivering large, complex systems with significant business impact
- Experience designing and developing large-scale distributed systems and architectures
- Broad and deep understanding of storage, data processing, and serving technologies
- Capability in object-oriented design and development
- Strong familiarity with Java and the Spring Framework
- Service development and operational experience in an AWS environment
- Experience driving improvements in code quality
