Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain an agentic AI research system for accelerating internal R&D.
- Build automated processes and pipelines for structuring unstructured documents and executing complex research tasks at scale.
- Collaborate with theorists, experimentalists, engineers, and other researchers on complex technical challenges.
- Develop SDKs, APIs, and data visualizations for internal users.
- Maintain high-quality production code through automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and code reviews.
Requirements
- BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience building AI/ML tools in a scientific or engineering research environment.
- At least 1 year of experience with agentic systems, LLM/RAG-based assistants, or large-scale neural-network training and deployment.
- Proven experience building and deploying production systems on AWS.
- Strong knowledge of asynchronous, concurrent, and/or queueing system design.
- Experience benchmarking LLM or agentic workflows.
- Good understanding of ML and AI fundamentals.
- Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, including version control, testing, CI/CD, logging, and monitoring.
- Preferred: MSc in a relevant technical field.
- Preferred: experience with agentic systems using LangChain, LangGraph, Claude, or similar frameworks.
- Preferred: experience with ML-assisted data processing, labeling, and distillation.
- Preferred: knowledge of physics and linear algebra, distributed computing, and quantum computing.
Benefits
- Base salary range of 140,000 - 190,000 CAD, determined by location, experience, and internal benchmarks.
