Java Lead Engineer - Vice President - Software Engineering

- Lead the design, development, architecture, and delivery of scalable enterprise reporting and analytics applications for a greenfield project.
- Evaluate build-versus-buy options, deliver proof-of-concepts, and assess tools and technologies.
- Implement robust software systems using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and other modern technologies.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver business-aligned solutions.
- Drive adoption of GenAI, Copilot, and AI-assisted development for automation, reporting, code completion, code review, and automated test generation.
- Mentor and lead a high-performing engineering team while fostering technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, communicate project status, and proactively address risks and challenges.
- Promote automated testing and reliable software delivery practices, and stay current with emerging technologies.
Requirements
- 10–15 years of software engineering experience with strong full-stack development experience and Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs as primary skills.
- Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and modern software development practices.
- Experience building and scaling enterprise-level applications, preferably in cloud environments.
- Proficiency with Python, SQL, databases, and additional frameworks or technology stacks.
- Experience using GenAI, Copilot, or AI-based tools for software development, automation, reporting, automated testing, or code review.
- Experience leading and motivating high-performing teams and managing stakeholders in a global environment.
- Prior experience in finance, investment banking, or a related domain is mandatory.
- Experience with automated testing and testing frameworks.
- Experience with Angular or React is an advantage.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience would generally be expected for the required skill set.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, business acumen, and innovation skills.
- Familiarity with Power BI, Apache Airflow, OLAP tools, workflow automation, tool evaluation, POC delivery, and greenfield project leadership is desirable.
