Lead Software Engineer - AWS governance, Terraform, Kubernetes
JPMorgan ChaseResponsibilities
- Lead the design, build, and modernization of FICC trading platforms using AWS as the default execution environment.
- Define cloud architecture, engineering standards, delivery practices, reusable cloud patterns, and operational KPIs across teams.
- Migrate legacy and on-premises components to cloud-native architectures while improving resiliency, scalability, security, and delivery speed.
- Design and build Java and Spring services for pre-trade, trade capture, pricing, and related FICC workflows.
- Own end-to-end delivery, including requirements, architecture, implementation, testing, release, production support, and operational stability.
- Design low-latency integration, messaging, and event pipelines using Kafka and enterprise messaging patterns.
- Implement IAM, encryption, network segmentation, auditability, disaster recovery, multi-availability-zone, and graceful-degradation controls.
- Drive adoption of authorized AI-assisted engineering and automation practices with secure coding, peer review, testing, and validation standards.
- Collaborate with Trading, Risk, P&L, and technology partners to prioritize roadmaps and deliver business- and regulatory-aligned solutions.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
- At least 10 years of software engineering experience with Java and the Spring ecosystem, including Spring, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
- Strong experience architecting and delivering production-grade systems on AWS with cloud-native design, operational excellence, and cost-aware engineering.
- Experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD automation, observability, incident management, and reliability engineering practices.
- Experience designing and supporting event-driven and distributed systems, including messaging patterns such as Kafka.
- Proven ability to deliver complex systems with strong testing discipline and production-support ownership.
- Experience with fixed-income trading systems, including pre-trade, trade capture, or pricing, or closely related capital-markets domains.
- Ability to influence stakeholders across highly matrixed organizations and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Preferred: graduate degree in computer science or engineering.
- Preferred: familiarity with MQ-style messaging systems and strong programming and problem-solving skills.
