Base Salary
$113k - $170k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor organization-wide test automation efforts and establish scalable quality engineering practices.
- Create testing strategies for multiple teams and drive modern shift-left testing methodologies.
- Design and build testing infrastructure and integrations for regression and integration testing.
- Develop quality metrics, manage bug triage, prioritize critical defects, and oversee resolution.
- Evaluate and introduce tools and methods that improve enterprise automation productivity.
- Architect and productionize AI-driven testing systems such as autonomous test generation, self-healing frameworks, intelligent defect triage, and predictive quality analytics.
- Integrate LLM- and agent-based systems, including MCP-based agents, RAG pipelines, and autonomous test agents, into CI/CD and quality engineering workflows.
- Define AI governance, evaluation, and risk frameworks covering model reliability, data privacy, hallucination mitigation, and human-in-the-loop validation.
- Educate engineering teams on AI-augmented quality practices and represent Quality Engineering in AI governance forums.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 7+ years of experience, or a master’s degree with 5+ years of experience.
- 8+ years of experience in Quality Engineering with expertise in automation frameworks.
- Advanced knowledge of system design, object-oriented concepts, databases, programming fundamentals, HTML, JavaScript/TypeScript, and web services.
- Proficiency with modern test automation tools and strong communication, organizational, and cross-functional influence skills.
- Demonstrated experience architecting and deploying AI/ML or generative AI systems in production software quality or testing environments.
- Deep fluency with LLM architectures, agentic frameworks, APIs, prompt engineering, and evaluation methodologies.
- Preferred experience with NodeJS, WebDriverIO, Playwright, C#, TypeScript, API and integration test automation, C# .NET Core, and Azure.
- Experience with API design and development, REST API testing, AI agents or copilots in CI/CD and enterprise QE pipelines, RAG pipelines, vector databases, and Python-based ML tooling.
- Track record using AI/ML for defect prediction, test prioritization, or coverage optimization at organizational scale.
Benefits
- Flexible work location if approved by the Company; the listed position is remote in Richmond, Virginia.
- Annual base salary is $113,100.00–$169,700.00, with potential bonus and equity eligibility.
- Paid sick, vacation, holiday, floating holiday, bereavement, jury duty, and other paid time away according to employment classification and company policy.
- Full-time hourly or commission/incentive-eligible associates may earn up to 48 hours of sick time annually, 80–200 hours of vacation after a 90-day waiting period, and paid scheduled holidays.
- Full-time salaried associates receive paid time away as needed for eligible purposes, subject to manager approval.
