Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the technical vision, roadmap, and architecture for the Data Platform across data, platform, and infrastructure domains.
- Establish engineering standards, best practices, and reusable patterns in partnership with Enterprise Architecture.
- Guide teams through complex technical challenges and contribute to planning, delivery, decision-making, and risk management.
- Improve code quality, testing, observability, reliability, and operational practices.
- Mentor engineers, grow senior technical capabilities, and champion AI-assisted development and engineering automation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, or equivalent senior individual contributor leader.
- Strong background in data platforms, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures, including shaping technical direction across teams and stakeholders.
- Expertise with technologies such as AWS, Terraform, Kafka/MSK, Airflow, Glue, or Spark, and experience building scalable data solutions.
- Knowledge of data lake or lakehouse architectures, Iceberg or similar table formats, and batch and streaming processing.
- Knowledge of data quality, governance, cataloguing, and observability tools such as Datadog.
- Experience with DBT or AI-assisted engineering practices is a plus.
