Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Own and deliver complete features across the software development lifecycle, including design, architecture, implementation, testing, debugging, shipping, and servicing.
- Use, evaluate, and advance AI-assisted development practices and help partner teams adopt effective approaches.
- Experiment with emerging AI and agentic development techniques in ambiguous problem spaces.
- Write and review high-quality code emphasizing performance, simplicity, durability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and coaching to engineers across teams.
- Contribute to an inclusive, collaborative engineering culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 8+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud background check.
- Preferred experience building with agent SDKs, large language models, prompt engineering, or AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, or LlamaIndex.
- Preferred familiarity with agentic AI patterns including multi-step reasoning, tool or function calling, retrieval-augmented generation, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
- Preferred experience delivering large-scale production systems and strong software engineering fundamentals in system design, algorithms, testing, debugging, and code review.
- Preferred ability to lead technical direction, mentor peers, and evaluate emerging AI developer tools and coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, and Cursor.
Benefits
- Base pay is listed at USD $165,600-$296,400 per year across the U.S., with a separate USD $220,800-$331,200 range for specified San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan locations.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
