Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain organizational information security needs.
- Design, configure, integrate, and implement security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software, and vulnerability scanning systems.
- Design and develop enterprise-wide cyber systems, networks, applications, and solutions.
- Perform security testing, vulnerability scanning, and security configuration reviews to reduce threats and vulnerabilities.
- Manage encryption protocols, evaluate information security intrusions, and monitor security-change effectiveness.
- Conduct security audits for regulatory and privacy-law compliance.
- Develop access-control policies, procedures, and information-protection best practices.
- Provide training and delegate tasks to lower-level security engineers.
- Analyze and interpret computer-related evidence from email, accounting software, databases, and electronic devices.
- Develop attack and defense methodologies and write scripts and software utilities to automate security analyses.
- Lead innovative solutions to complex, high-impact, cross-departmental security and operating problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems or a related field, or typically a BS/BA in a related discipline.
- Typically 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity or a related field, or a master’s degree with typically 5+ years of related experience.
- CISSP, CISA, or a related certification; certification is required in some areas.
- Strong experience with multiple security technologies and methodologies.
- Ability to address complex problems, make decisions under uncertainty, and operate with considerable latitude.
