Base Salary
$144k - $288k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement customer identity and access management systems using Okta APIs and SDKs.
- Build secure authentication flows using OIDC, OAuth 2.0, and SAML 2.0.
- Develop JWT validation, scoping, and claims-handling mechanisms to secure backend microservices.
- Create custom Okta hooks and use Okta Workflows to extend platform capabilities and synchronize data with external databases.
- Build reusable internal libraries, SDK wrappers, and documentation for product teams implementing identity features.
- Provide technical leadership to development and design teams, mentor engineers, and define software development best practices and coding standards.
- Advise executives on current and future technologies and lead organizational innovation through proofs of concept.
- Design, review, document, and implement scalable solutions across front-end, middle-tier, back-end, infrastructure, and data stores.
- Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to translate requirements into software solutions.
- Troubleshoot distributed systems and support large-scale platforms handling real-time complex transactions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience, preferred.
- Typically 12+ years of experience with hands-on object-oriented programming in Java or Python and/or JavaScript UI frameworks.
- Experience architecting and designing enterprise-wide web application solutions.
- Experience with cloud-native tools and technologies, microservice architecture, end-to-end UI/API integration, and REST, gRPC, and GraphQL protocols.
- Experience designing highly scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions and establishing coding best practices.
- Experience refining technical roadmaps, analyzing complex problems, and making strategic recommendations.
- Ability to architect, design, review, and document high-level and detailed solutions while supporting implementation of critical components.
- Experience building large-scale platforms involving real-time complex transactions and troubleshooting distributed systems.
- Knowledge of cloud services, serverless approaches, and infrastructure as code.
- Strong understanding of application security best practices and security-by-design principles.
- Hands-on experience configuring SAML 2.0 identity-provider- and service-provider-initiated flows and OIDC Authorization Code, Implicit, and Client Credentials grants.
- Ability to drive results, inspire and motivate team performance, and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
