Responsibilities
- Lead technical execution, architecture, and long-term strategy for the Sign-In Widget platform.
- Design and implement core platform features and foundational framework components that enable extensibility for other engineering teams.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Design, and Principal Engineers to shape the roadmap and translate business requirements into technical strategy.
- Resolve complex technical challenges involving performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and architectural limitations.
- Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and responsiveness across devices and browsers.
- Write clean, modular, well-tested, and maintainable code.
- Identify technical debt and advocate for technologies and approaches that advance Okta’s identity platform.
- Mentor senior engineers and influence technical direction across multiple teams.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of software development experience, including at least 5 years designing and building complex enterprise-grade web applications.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and experience architecting and delivering large-scale, high-impact software projects.
- Expert-level knowledge of React and TypeScript, including state management, component architecture, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Webpack or Vite, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Familiarity with server-side languages such as Java or C#.
- Familiarity with Jest, React Testing Library, or Playwright and a commitment to comprehensive testing.
- Understanding of web security principles, secure coding practices, and accessibility standards.
- Knowledge of IAM protocols such as OAuth, OIDC, and SAML is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices is a strong plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
