Responsibilities
- Configure and optimize OpenText UCMDB and/or FlexeraOne for infrastructure and software inventory.
- Perform technical assessments and hands-on troubleshooting for IT asset discovery issues.
- Lead discovery-agent installation, deployment, and troubleshooting across hybrid environments.
- Design and implement discovery patterns and integrations.
- Configure and optimize UCMDB/FlexeraOne integrations with ServiceNow CMDB.
- Gather requirements, plan implementation work, and coordinate with stakeholders and engineering peers.
- Drive tooling upgrades, re-platforming initiatives, and automation of discovery processes.
- Support the evolution of the ServiceNow CMDB data model in alignment with enterprise architecture.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, champion Agile practices, and contribute to continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 8 to 12 years of experience.
- Strong understanding of discovery tools, preferably OpenText UCMDB or FlexeraOne; experience with alternatives such as ServiceNow ITOM or BMC Helix is also relevant.
- Hands-on experience with agent installation and management or API integrations/discoveries.
- Familiarity with hybrid IT environments including Azure, GCP, VMware, Oracle, and SQL.
- Experience with CMDB and ITIL, and cloud, on-premises, or hybrid IT environments including x86 and vCenter.
- Strong communication, stakeholder-management, interpersonal, problem-solving, adaptability, and independent-working skills.
- Preferred: scripting or programming experience with Python, Jython, PowerShell, or Perl.
- Preferred: orchestration experience with Ansible or Chef.
- Preferred: version-control and CI/CD experience with GitHub Enterprise, Harness, Spinnaker, or Jenkins.
