Base Salary

$190k - $230k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and lead a small team of software engineers.
  • Write production-grade backend services, pipelines, and APIs from prototype through delivery.
  • Lead system design for ingestion pipelines, entity resolution, enrichment workflows, and search indexing strategies.
  • Own architecture decisions, code review, performance, reliability, observability, and technical quality.
  • Own services, applications, and related infrastructure in production, including their stability, reliability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering management, product, and partner teams on requirements and technical direction.
  • Drive down technical debt and establish best practices for software development, microservices, and DevOps.
  • Own feature and release estimates, resource allocation, work distribution, and delivery against sprint and release goals.
  • Ensure releases and features meet engineering architecture, quality, and reliability standards.
  • Use cloud technology to create robust and scalable software systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
  • 7+ years of backend software engineering experience, predominantly in Java on production systems at scale.
  • 5+ years of cloud infrastructure experience, with GCP preferred and AWS acceptable.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
  • Must be able to work onsite in Seattle.
  • Preferred qualifications include technical leadership in a small, high-ownership team; distributed data pipelines and streaming systems such as Kafka; Elasticsearch or comparable search/indexing platforms; PostgreSQL or relational database expertise; large-scale ingestion, transformation, enrichment, entity resolution, deduplication, or data quality systems; Docker and Kubernetes; distributed systems, data modeling, API design, and fault tolerance; and experience using GitHub Copilot, Claude, or equivalent.
  • Preferred object-oriented design experience includes Domain-Driven Design, service-oriented architectures, distributed systems, testing, CI/CD, and Agile.
