Base Salary
$207k - $243k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead technical direction for high-impact applied AI products
- Design, build, evaluate, deploy, and maintain AI and ML systems in production
- Develop LLM integrations, orchestration systems, evaluation pipelines, and model observability capabilities
- Work across teams to convert product ideas into shipped AI systems
- Establish engineering practices for building, evaluating, and operating AI at scale
- Drive continuous model improvement through data pipelines, evaluation, and quality monitoring
- Help define Rula’s future AI strategy and raise the standard for AI engineering execution
Requirements
- 8+ years of AI/ML development experience spanning solution design, model design, training or fine-tuning, deployment, and quality upkeep, with a record of product success
- 5+ years of deep Python experience and 2+ years with at least one backend language, preferably JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, or Go
- Hands-on experience with foundation models including OpenAI, Anthropic, Bedrock, or Gemini
- Experience designing evaluation pipelines for human alignment, factual accuracy, or model interpretability
- Strong expertise in LLM integration patterns, AI orchestration frameworks, and vector databases
- Deep understanding of AIOps, data pipelines, evaluation, and observability systems for continuous model improvement
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Machine Learning or a related field
- Strong communication skills
- Preferred: 5+ years with public cloud and 2+ years designing and scaling distributed systems
- Preferred: experience delivering secure and compliant AI solutions in regulated environments such as HIPAA- or GDPR-governed settings
- Preferred: familiarity with human-in-the-loop systems and clinical decision support frameworks
- Preferred: contributions to open-source AI frameworks or applied research in NLP, healthcare AI, or generative AI safety
- Preferred: experience in a regulated industry such as finance or healthcare
- Preferred: experience contributing to early-stage team growth from 0 to 1
