Responsibilities
- Design the next generation of Stripe products for the needs of the company and its customers.
- Build, test, and ship business-critical internal and external software features.
- Deliver value through collaborative, user-first work with stakeholders and customers.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to their growth.
- Debug and resolve critical production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
Requirements
- 2–12+ years of experience in backend software development.
- Ability to write high-quality code in languages such as Go, Java, C, or C++.
- Hands-on experience contributing to or building large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to contribute to peers’ success.
- Ability to work with substantial autonomy and responsibility in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Preferred: familiarity with event-driven architectures.
- Preferred: experience with subscription management, usage-based billing, or financial reporting systems.
- Preferred: interest in financial infrastructure and business revenue operations.
- Preferred: direct leadership and mentorship experience.
