Responsibilities
- Resolve complex technical issues and make design decisions for scalable, highly available, multi-tenant cloud services.
- Investigate options, implement new functionality, and re-architect existing solutions to meet growing business needs.
- Design and implement database schemas, business logic, presentation-layer features, integrations, and product offerings.
- Collaborate with development, product management, UX, QA, and cross-location teams.
- Develop automated tests and test plans, including UI, performance, security, and automation testing.
- Define branching strategies, conduct code reviews, and promote strong coding practices.
- Mentor and coach engineers, lead knowledge sharing, support recruiting activities, and provide technical leadership.
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies and adapt project execution to changing needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer engineering or equivalent.
- 6+ years of software development experience with a proven record of making technical decisions.
- Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, system architecture, and design.
- Expertise in Java, including multithreading, concurrency, collections, and object-oriented design.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, React, SQL, database concepts, and data-driven applications.
- Experience with complex SQL queries and preferably database performance tuning.
- Experience designing complex solutions, providing architectural input, and performing technical feasibility analysis.
- Experience writing test plans and developing automated scripts with Selenium or similar tools.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git and with defining project branching strategies.
- Familiarity with testing pyramids, code coverage, continuous integration, performance testing, and security testing.
- Experience coaching and mentoring engineers and demonstrating technical leadership across projects.
- Experience working as a member of a Scrum team and communicating effectively in technical and non-technical contexts.
- Advanced HTML skills, including HTML5, CSS 3, XHTML, and JSP, and experience with product-based companies are advantageous.
