Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend applications, APIs, and services.
- Design, implement, document, and optimize RESTful, GraphQL, and other service interfaces.
- Design database schemas, write efficient queries, maintain data integrity, and optimize database performance.
- Improve system scalability, availability, fault tolerance, and high-traffic performance.
- Diagnose and resolve complex production bugs, outages, and performance issues.
- Drive improvements in architecture, automation, security, observability, development processes, and engineering efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and work experience.
- 8–10+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL database development, including Postgres or Oracle.
- Strong system design and architecture experience with distributed systems.
- Proven experience designing and developing secure, scalable RESTful APIs.
- Experience with AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, and Cognito.
- Familiarity with CloudFormation, Terraform, and CDK infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Understanding of event-driven architectures using SNS, SQS, or EventBridge.
- Strong relational database experience and preferred NoSQL database experience.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Copilot, or Codex.
- Preferred experience includes AWS data lakes, data warehouses, analytics platforms, React, Angular, Vue.js, CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk, Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes.
