Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Develop new Java features for the NRDB telemetry database with a focus on performance and efficiency.
- Implement scalable solutions and improve application performance in distributed systems.
- Identify and act on opportunities to improve service reliability.
- Participate in pager rotation and occasionally respond to system failures and on-call incidents.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional experience in distributed SaaS software development.
- Proficiency in Java, algorithms, data structures, and high-throughput software development best practices.
- Deeper understanding of distributed systems and their core challenges.
- Experience using the command line to manage, investigate, and repair broken systems.
- Experience with databases such as MySQL, Postgres, DynamoDB, Redis, or MongoDB.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP and with Kubernetes or Docker.
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals.
- Bonus: familiarity with networks, load balancing, observability and alerting patterns, Java Flight Recorder, and debugging distributed systems.
