Responsibilities
- Develop sophisticated distributed web applications, JSON/REST services, integrations, and APIs with minimal supervision.
- Identify risks, alternative solutions, and opportunities to improve product quality and maintainability.
- Perform advanced debugging, bug fixes, refactoring, system design, code reviews, and API documentation.
- Mentor and onboard less experienced engineers and communicate complex technical concepts to junior staff.
- Collaborate with product and analytics teams on requirements, releases, documentation, and technical presentations.
- Follow SDLC, Agile, peer review, and release preparation processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent years of experience.
- At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong Python experience in distributed web application development environments.
- Experience with AWS services and APIs or an equivalent cloud vendor.
- Experience with OS X, Linux, JSON or REST services and APIs, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment methodologies.
- Experience with Agile software development, third-party APIs, workflow and integration architectures, and large-scale or distributed web applications.
- Understanding of OWASP.
- Desirable experience with data processing, data engineering, and integration with AI and ML services, APIs, or models.
