Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance translation services and backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Integrate LLM and machine translation provider APIs into content-processing infrastructure.
- Evaluate and improve translation quality, scalability, cost efficiency, and latency.
- Build REST APIs and Apache Kafka-driven asynchronous pipelines for high-volume translation workloads.
- Implement monitoring, logging, error handling, retries, automated testing, and workflow validation.
- Drive performance tuning and architectural improvements for increasing translation volumes.
- Support production deployments, CI/CD pipelines, system monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, product managers, and stakeholders on architecture, design, reviews, and documentation.
- Extend the platform for international expansion, additional languages, and diverse content formats.
Requirements
- Proven expertise with Java and Spring Boot for scalable RESTful APIs and enterprise microservices.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform or another major public cloud environment.
- Experience with Apache Kafka or similar messaging systems and event-driven architectures.
- Experience integrating LLMs, AI APIs, or machine translation technologies into multilingual workflows.
- Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code reviews, and Agile methodologies.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Experience with content management platforms, digital publishing systems, or media workflows is preferred.
- Experience with LLM prompt engineering, fine-tuning, or translation quality metrics such as BLEU and COMET is preferred.
