Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services, RESTful APIs, and cloud-based software components for connected products and customer-facing applications.
- Implement software features using C#/.NET and established engineering patterns, coding standards, automated testing, and code reviews.
- Integrate services with databases, messaging systems, queues, storage, and other cloud platform components.
- Write unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews to maintain software quality and reliability.
- Troubleshoot software and production issues using application logs, metrics, code behavior, and system dependencies.
- Participate in L3 support, identify root causes with senior engineers, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with product, QA, operations, firmware, mobile, and other engineering teams to deliver functionality.
- Participate in technical design discussions and recommend implementation approaches within established architecture.
- Improve software performance, reliability, maintainability, security, and developer productivity.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, provide status updates, and document technical approaches and troubleshooting findings.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience developing and supporting production software.
- Hands-on programming experience with C#/.NET, Java, or a similar object-oriented language.
- Experience developing or consuming REST APIs and working with backend services.
- Working knowledge of databases and data access patterns.
- Experience with source control, preferably Git, code reviews, and modern software development practices.
- Experience writing automated tests and debugging software issues.
- Ability to collaborate within a software engineering team, solve problems, and learn new technologies.
- Preferred qualifications include C#/.NET Core, Microsoft Azure, Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Hubs, Azure IoT Hub, Azure Cosmos DB, microservices, asynchronous messaging, event-driven architectures, SQL, NoSQL databases, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Docker, Kubernetes, observability tools, connected devices, IoT applications, and distributed systems.
