Base Salary

$168k - $227k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical direction of one or more Stream Management services and drive designs through implementation.
  • Design, build, and operate highly available, scalable, secure backend systems for live-stream sessions.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, applied scientists, and AWS service teams to deliver integrated customer experiences.
  • Apply testing, performance optimization, observability, maintainable coding, automation, metrics, alarms, and runbooks.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture and design reviews, and on-call rotations.
  • Lead post-incident investigations for high-severity service events and drive corrective actions to completion.

Requirements

  • Have 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • Have 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
  • Have 5+ years of leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including reliability and scaling concerns.
  • Have experience mentoring, serving as a tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
  • Be familiar with live video concepts, common streaming protocols, transcoding, and codecs.
  • Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Preferred: 5+ years designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using Golang or C/C++.
  • Preferred: familiarity with live streaming origination, CDN integration, caching, and low-latency video streaming distribution.
