Base Salary
$144k - $288k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own enterprise cloud-native reference architecture across Azure, AWS, and GCP, covering networking, identity, compute, and storage.
- Define cloud security, workload identity, IAM, zero-trust networking, landing zone, connectivity, segmentation, and runtime-selection standards.
- Define Kubernetes standards across EKS, AKS, and GKE, including cluster architecture, multi-tenancy, and platform hardening.
- Own infrastructure-as-code standards using Terraform, Pulumi, Helm, ArgoCD, and GitOps practices.
- Develop guidance for autoscaling, capacity planning, observability, FinOps, unit economics, and open billing standards such as FOCUS.
- Define architecture standards for AI-powered systems, including agents and RAG pipelines running in the cloud.
- Write architecture decision records, build proof-of-concepts and reference implementations, configure infrastructure, and conduct architecture reviews.
- Mentor architects and platform engineers and present technical direction to engineers, senior leadership, security, compliance, and vendors.
- Address HIPAA, SOX, and PCI requirements and participate in cloud-native, hybrid-cloud, CNCF, and open-source architecture communities.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in infrastructure, cloud architecture, or platform engineering.
- At least 8 years of cloud infrastructure architecture experience at a large enterprise.
- Strong experience with at least two of Azure, AWS, and GCP across networking, identity, compute, and storage.
- At least 5 years of production Kubernetes experience with EKS, AKS, GKE, or OpenShift.
- Strong hands-on infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform, Pulumi, Helm, ArgoCD, or similar tools.
- Experience with workload identity, zero-trust networking, and writing architecture standards adopted by other teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred experience includes on-premises/private cloud, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, Dynatrace, SLOs/SLIs, Kafka, Confluent, AIOps, FinOps, service mesh, eBPF tools, CNCF/open-source communities, and healthcare, insurance, or financial services.
- Cloud certifications are preferred but not required.
