Base Salary

$125k - $160k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop highly reliable and scalable data pipelines for engineers across SpaceX
  • Create applications that improve SpaceX business operations
  • Collaborate on architecture, design, and code reviews
  • Build prototypes to validate design concepts and quantify technical constraints
  • Own software engineering and product development activities
  • Investigate business problems and apply efficient, first-principles solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, math, physics, or another scientific discipline, or 2+ years of professional software-building experience in lieu of a degree
  • At least 1 year of experience in full-stack development, software engineering, data engineering, or data science
  • Active Top Secret or Top Secret SCI clearance
  • Programming experience in Python, C#, Java, Scala, Go, or similar languages
  • Experience with in-stream and big-data processing and analytics using Apache Kafka, Spark, Flink, SQL, or similar technologies
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases or data lakes, including technologies such as HBase, Hive, Delta Lake, PostgreSQL, or CockroachDB
  • Experience with data exploration tools such as Grafana, Jupyter Notebooks, Metabase, or Power BI
  • Understanding of version control, testing, continuous integration, build, deployment, and monitoring
  • Some front-end experience with Angular, React, or a similar JavaScript framework
  • Understanding of statistics, machine-learning algorithms, and frameworks
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when needed
  • Must satisfy applicable ITAR eligibility or obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations
