Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize end-to-end data pipelines on Trino and Iceberg Lakehouse infrastructure.
- Implement Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medallion Architecture layers for financial event data.
- Process high-throughput Kafka streams and maintain data freshness service-level agreements.
- Embed automated reconciliation, balance, and double-entry validation checks into pipelines.
- Partner with finance controllers, analysts, product, and engineering to develop production-ready data schemas.
- Address scaling constraints, technical debt, and compute optimization to align infrastructure costs with financial targets.
- Coach junior and mid-level engineers and conduct code and technical design reviews.
- Create reusable framework documentation and automated tooling to reduce onboarding friction for new data sources.
Requirements
- Proven experience building data infrastructure with Trino or Presto and open table formats such as Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake.
- Deep expertise in Medallion Architecture, star schemas, and semi-structured financial data such as JSON and Avro.
- Expert proficiency with data transformation and orchestration tools such as dbt and Airflow.
- Strong understanding of event-driven architectures and streaming processing with Apache Kafka.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, or an object-oriented language such as Java or Scala.
- Experience in SOX/PCAOB-regulated environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake and cloud compute orchestration is preferred.
- Experience with financial flows, double-entry ledger systems, or accounting integrations is preferred.
- Strong technical ownership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills are required.
