Responsibilities

  • Lead application systems analysis, programming, design, and implementation activities for derivatives-clearing technology.
  • Partner with management and technology teams to define system enhancements, new products, and process improvements.
  • Design and build resilient, scalable, and observable cloud-based services and systems.
  • Analyze and resolve complex performance issues involving databases, ingestion, exposure, and end-to-end system flows.
  • Integrate clearing systems with books-and-records platforms to support seamless data flow and reconciliation.
  • Define standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation while ensuring alignment with architecture standards.
  • Advise and coach mid-level developers and analysts and allocate work as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal technology teams, external vendors, and clearinghouse representatives.
  • Assess and manage technology, business, compliance, and control risks.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of application development and leadership experience in the financial-services domain.
  • Hands-on Full Stack Java and Oracle experience.
  • Experience with performance optimization across databases, ingestion, exposure, and application flows.
  • Understanding of CI/CD processes, Scrum, and JIRA.
  • Deep knowledge of exchange-traded derivatives clearing workflows, including trade lifecycle, brokerage, cash, and collateral.
  • Experience integrating clearing systems with books-and-records platforms for data flow and reconciliation.
  • Expertise in cloud-native development and building highly resilient, scalable, and observable services.
  • Extensive experience with post-trade processing systems and technologies.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, collaboration, relationship-building, and consensus-building skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, project management, application development, and client-business knowledge.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and their use in day-to-day development work.
  • Subject-matter expertise in at least one area of applications development.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; master’s degree preferred.
