Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver scalable, maintainable, performant, and secure software solutions.
- Build and manage robust APIs supporting Barclays’ API-first digital strategy.
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs using enterprise design principles and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements and solution strategies.
- Participate in code reviews, promote code quality, and share technical knowledge.
- Implement unit testing, test automation, secure coding, vulnerability mitigation, and security scanning practices.
- Work with microservices architecture, event-driven design, databases, cloud platforms, and developer tooling.
- Analyze complex information, troubleshoot performance issues, manage risks and controls, and communicate with stakeholders.
- Lead or guide complex assignments and, where applicable, set objectives and coach team members.
Requirements
- Hands-on full-stack development experience with Core Java, JPA/Hibernate, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Data, and caching concepts.
- Experience building secure and scalable enterprise applications.
- Strong RESTful API development and consumption skills, including understanding of OpenAPI/Swagger, OAuth2, and JWT.
- Good relational database development skills and exposure to NoSQL technologies.
- Understanding of microservices architecture, event-driven design patterns, unit testing, and test automation.
- Familiarity with SonarQube, security scanning tools, Maven, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development practices.
- Familiarity with AWS or OpenShift cloud platforms.
- Ability to participate in code reviews, apply feedback, collaborate effectively, and communicate clearly.
- Preferred experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Angular or React, SQL optimization, Oracle, API documentation tools, AI coding agents, Docker, Selenium, monitoring and observability solutions, Kafka, and release or change management.
