Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend applications and shared platform foundations for targeting and CRM messaging.
- Design and operate real-time streaming and batch data ingestion and processing pipelines.
- Develop segment evaluation, audience matching, messaging, and delivery services at scale.
- Design distributed services and APIs with emphasis on reliability, observability, testing, and uptime.
- Own high-visibility platform components and contribute to technical direction and roadmap decisions.
- Plan, ship, operate, and maintain owned systems while collaborating across teams and functions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend development experience with a proven track record of success.
- Expertise in Ruby and Go; Python experience is a plus.
- Solid understanding of Rails or Pandas.
- Experience designing scalable, reliable distributed systems, SQL/NoSQL databases, and batch and streaming data pipelines.
- Experience with rigorous unit testing and practical problem-solving.
- Strong communication, leadership, collaboration, and cross-functional influence skills.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
