Responsibilities
- Define architectural blueprints, engineering standards, platform capabilities, and cross-domain integration strategies.
- Lead the design and implementation of large-scale distributed systems focused on performance, resiliency, security, reliability, and maintainability.
- Drive technical discovery, requirements analysis, solution design, roadmaps, and implementation planning for cross-functional Marketplace programs.
- Guide system scalability, availability, data protection, access controls, vulnerability management, compliance, and architectural risk mitigation.
- Advise senior leadership, lead cross-functional technical decisions, and communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor engineers, architects, and technical leaders while fostering engineering excellence, innovation, inclusion, and continuous learning.
- Drive improvements in architecture, developer productivity, system quality, automation, and operational maturity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a listed computing or related field plus 6 years of software engineering experience, or 8 years of software engineering experience.
- Preferred experience includes a BS plus 15 or more years in the field, or an MS plus 12 or more years of experience.
- Deep working knowledge of cloud-native distributed-system development, with Azure, GCP, or WCNP preferred.
- Strong experience building full-stack, multi-platform, large-scale, low-latency systems using distributed architectures.
- Strong hands-on coding, architecture, system-design, platform-scaling, and engineering-excellence experience.
- Experience mentoring engineers, technical leaders, and architects and leading large engineering efforts.
- Experience partnering with product, program management, QA, release management, operations, security, compliance, and engineering teams.
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams and aligning diverse stakeholders around shared technical goals.
- Strong business acumen, communication skills, ownership, judgment, and comfort operating in ambiguous environments.
- Knowledge of current AI tools for engineering.
- Preferred accessibility experience includes WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.
