Responsibilities
- Design scalable, high-performance, resilient distributed systems and microservices frameworks.
- Build automation for complex software systems and develop testable, high-quality, production-ready code.
- Translate engineering requirements into software designs and architectural solutions with Product Management and other developers.
- Drive design, implementation, testing, and release of microservices platforms as part of a cross-site development team.
- Manage cloud infrastructure as code using Terraform.
- Implement cloud security, performance, and cost-optimization best practices.
- Define technical architecture and cloud strategies with cross-functional teams.
- Participate in on-call rotations and improve system reliability and incident response.
- Design, build, and maintain data platform solutions using modern tools.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on software development experience in an object-oriented language such as C#, C++, or Java.
- At least 5 years of experience with cloud deployment and configuration tools using scripting and configuration platforms.
- Hands-on experience with cloud object storage such as Azure Blob or Google Cloud Storage and/or eventing and messaging platforms such as Azure Event Hub or GCP Pub/Sub.
- Experience with security hardening, lifecycle management, and cross-cloud abstraction patterns.
- Hands-on experience with system architecture, API design, and distributed systems.
- Proficiency managing data platform infrastructure as code with Terraform.
- Experience participating in an on-call rotation.
- Preferred: experience in a SaaS environment and practical knowledge of cloud technologies for distributed systems.
- Preferred: experience with storage-related technologies in Azure, GCP, or AWS.
- Preferred: experience working on platform teams building cross-cloud technologies.
