Quality Assurance Engineering Specialist
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Test features and small feature sets with direction from senior team members or management.
- Build and maintain automated testing frameworks and write effective tests for functional requirements.
- Perform functional, end-to-end, integration, API, performance, and manual testing.
- Execute and monitor automated test suites through Jenkins.
- Create test plans, use cases, quality metrics, and testing strategies across multiple environments.
- Manage complex test data and contribute to established quality, coding, documentation, scalability, and security practices.
- Estimate quality-related work, own small tasks, and communicate technical issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a STEM major.
- 2–4 years of experience in quality assurance or test engineering.
- Experience with test automation using Playwright, JavaScript, and Python.
- Exposure to performance testing with JMeter.
- Experience with API automation using Postman, Playwright, or RestAssured alongside SOAP/REST services.
- Strong manual testing skills for functional, end-to-end, and integration test coverage.
- Experience executing and monitoring automated test suites with Jenkins.
- Experience with project management tools such as Trello, Rally, or ADO.
- Knowledge of Docker and/or Kubernetes for testing environments.
- Proficiency with Git and GitHub for version control and code reviews.
- Exposure to AWS or Azure and their testing and deployment pipelines.
- Understanding of infrastructure for large distributed web applications is desirable.
- Experience with power systems domain software is a significant advantage.
