Responsibilities
- Lead major project initiatives from inception through production and develop technologies, methods, and processes to meet company objectives.
- Own, design, and architect one or more large subsystems.
- Lead automation and implementation of highly available and resilient public-cloud platforms.
- Serve as an escalation point and expert for investigating and resolving complex technical problems across global informatics environments.
- Research industry concepts, drive innovation, evaluate solutions, and present technical recommendations to cross-functional teams.
- Mentor and develop talent through feedback, instruction, and development guidance.
- Champion design, configuration, and change documentation for knowledge transfer, security compliance, and quality-system processes.
Requirements
- Expertise administering, configuring, optimizing, and monitoring Linux distributions and SaaS infrastructure at scale.
- Experience deploying and supporting systems on AWS or other public clouds.
- Advanced knowledge of virtual network design, Internet protocols, and complex network infrastructure troubleshooting.
- Programming or language skills in Bash, Python, Go, SQL, NoSQL, log query languages, or related technologies.
- Expertise in one or more large-scale data systems, virtual compute and container systems, messaging systems, network infrastructure, cybersecurity controls, or emerging technologies.
- Experience implementing infrastructure as code using Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation or similar tools.
- Typically 15 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, 12 years with a master’s degree, or equivalent experience.
- Technical certifications in public cloud services and/or security-related domains.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly, perform deep technical investigations, and communicate effectively with internal customers.
