Responsibilities
- Drive the design, implementation, and reliability of foundational data platforms and systems.
- Design and develop core data storage, streaming, caching, indexing, and related platform systems.
- Work with stakeholders and internal customers to understand and refine requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
- Identify and drive improvements to programming practices, processes, and engineering tools.
- Present technical information to teams and stakeholders and provide guidance on development processes and technologies.
- Mentor and lead teams on successful engineering projects.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of full-time engineering experience after graduation, specializing in backend systems and large-scale data storage, streaming, and warehousing.
- Experience with MongoDB, Postgres, Kinesis, Flink, Spark, Elasticsearch, Redis, Trino, Presto, Snowflake, Kubernetes, and public cloud offerings.
- A track record of mentoring and leading teams through successful projects.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Extensive software development experience and a deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud platforms, and data systems.
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices and CI/CD tooling such as CircleCI is preferred.
- Experience scaling products at hyper-growth startups and enthusiasm for AI technologies are preferred.
